After shopping around, looking at both new and resale homes in the Rocklin area, Matt and Glenda Heidsick decided on Whitney Ranch because of the true sense of community they felt during their many visits.   

With amenities such as The Ranch House, top-rated schools, and miles of walking and biking trails, they said it was an easy decision to make.

“We knew that Whitney Ranch offered the best all around new home value in a master-planned community with The Ranch House and parks,” Matt Heidsick said.  “It’s also close to work and has great schools for the kids.”  

The Heidsick’s chose a 2,184 square foot home by William Lyon Homes in Shady Lane because of its floor plan. They said the first floor bedroom is perfect for their oldest son Daniel, and that their two daughters have plenty of room to themselves in their upstairs bedrooms. 

Their home is also built with many energy efficiency features that help the family save money on energy bills. 

“Cindi (the Shady Lane sales agent) was wonderful," Glenda Heidsick said.  "The process was comfortable, and everyone was very professional,” said Glenda. We were so excited about our new home that we slept in sleeping bags on the floor the day Cindi gave us the keys.” 

The Heidsick family had a hard time pinpointing just one thing they like best about Whitney Ranch. The couple’s oldest daughter, land their two dogs, loves the community parks.   Their younger daughter enjoys living on a street with 15 other children she can play with.  

Matt loves The Ranch House community center becasse of its resort-like ambience, with a pool, cabanas and patio barbecues. 

Glenda said the neighborhood is "one big happy family."  “We all help each other out all the time,” she said. “It’s the kids-playing-in-the-street, barbeques-in-the-summer, always-count-on-your-neighbors kind of place. It’s home.”
