Whitney High School boasts a 21,500 square foot Visual and Performing Art Center features a 450-seat theater, latest stage technology and classrooms for music, choir and drama instruction.
Students have access to a full broadcast studio capable of broadcasting not only within the campus cable system, but also in the wider community.

On a 50-acre site within Whitney Ranch, Whitney High School opened August 2005 with the capacity for 1,800 students. The school celebrated its first graduating senior class this past June.
“Academically, the school is doing great, especially for only being open for three years,” said Manny Rodriguez, assistant principal and athletic director.
In keeping with Rocklin’s top quality schools, Maria Montessori Charter Academy opened August 27 as another option for Kindergarten – 8th grade education.
The academy is a tuition–free, non-profit public elementary school emphasizing the Montessori philosophy within the accountability and framework of the California state standards. “We are all very excited about being a part of the Rocklin community,” said Principal Brent Boothby.
Rocklin School District and Whitney Ranch residents are looking forward to the addition of Sunset Ranch Elementary School, construction is underway on site and the school is scheduled to open in August of 2010.
Sunset Ranch will pupils in kindergarten through sixth grades and have a capacity for 700 students.
“All classrooms will be smart classrooms,” explained Sue Wesselius, director of facilities for Rocklin Unified School District. “They are each equipped with an LCD projector which is integrated to the teacher’s computer and projects on a 100 inch screen in the front of the classroom.”
The smart features also allow teachers to stream educational video right into the classroom. Built-in speakers in the ceiling help engage students in the videos and presentations.
Rocklin’s showcase schools don’t end with high school.
William Jessup University, a residential four-year Christian university, moved to a 128-acre campus in Rocklin from San Jose in 2004. WJU is the Sacramento area’s only residential Christian university.
The univeristy recently announced plans for a $25 million campus expansion, its first major expansion since the university relocated to Rocklin.
The expansion includes a doubling of on-campus housing for students, a new student dining center, a banquet facility that will be one of the largest in Placer County and additional athletic and music facilities.
The first phase of new student residences will be ready for occupancy in August 2009 and will house 192 students.
