Rocklin Exceeds Waste Reduction Goals

7/30/2009

Councilmember George Magnuson, the City’s representative to the Western Placer Waste Management Authority(WPWAM), stated that the results show that recycling in Rocklin works. Magnuson credited the material recycling facility, built jointly by the cities of Rocklin, Roseville, Lincoln, and Placer County, as one of the key factors contributing to the waste reduction rate achievement.

"The Authority’s unique diversion system providing a single Toter® for all household waste (food, cans, bottles, newspapers, etc.) and another for yard clippings has made exceeding the State’s mandated goals both convenient and inexpensive for the residents of Rocklin," said Councilmember Magnuson.
